Elinor d’Angelis – Martell
Elinor has a BA (hons) in Drama & Theatre History and a BA (hons) in History & English Literature.
Initially she trained in the Visual/Fine Arts and in Dance before going on to study Drama for three years at East 15 Acting School. Whilst at college she also trained as an operatic singer.
Since then, Elinor has also studied in Mime & Physical Theatre at the prestigious Desmond Jones School of Mime & Physical Theatre and at the International School of Corporeal Mime in London.
Elinor also trained in Film Production, Direction and Editing at the TIC, Birmingham and the University of Central England.
A professional actor for over twenty five years, Elinor has played the leads in many plays and musicals, diverse in style, from the classical to the contemporary. She has also appeared in films and TV, including productions for BBC Television and BBC Radio.
From 1997 to 2003 Elinor was artistic director and core performer of Dreamsurf Theatre UK, a touring theatre company that performed both in the UK and in NorthAmerica to great critical and public acclaim with their five star, sell-out shows.
When not performing, Elinor has directed shows for other theatre companies, including Purple Fish Theatre Company.
She has over twenty five years as a professional teacher and has taught Drama and Mime/Physical Theatre at established drama schools in the UK including the Birmingham Theatre School, School of the Science of Acting, Stagecoach and Bigfoot. She has also taught workshops at many other schools, colleges and universities both in the UK and abroad, including Sheffield University and University of Victoria, Canada.
After travelling and working all over the world, Elinor now lives in a 17th century cottage, in rural Buckinghamshire with her husband and son.
